IPL 2025 mein Kolkata Knight Riders aur Gujarat Titans ke beech hua match sirf cricket ka nahi, ek controversy ka bhi maidan ban gaya. Harsha Bhogle, jo is match mein commentary box mein nahi dikhe, unki non-appearance ko lekar social media par afwaahon ka bazaar garam ho gaya.
Reports yeh keh rahi thi ki Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) ne Bhogle aur ex-New Zealand pacer Simon Doull ko commentary panel se hata diya kyunki unhone Eden Gardens pitch ko criticize kiya tha. Lekin Harsha ne in sab ko sirf “inappropriate conclusions” bola hai.

“Asking me would have resolved the issue. Rosters are done before the tournament starts. I was rostered for two games in Kolkata. I was there for the first and an illness in the family prevented me from being at the 2nd,”
Yeh clearly show karta hai ki Bhogle ka absence pehle se scheduled tha, aur kisi controversy ka part nahi tha.
Meanwhile, KKR team management bhi apne homeground pitch ko lekar concerned thi. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane aur coach Chandrakanat Pandit ne spin-friendly pitch ki demand ki thi, jisme unki spin army – Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine, aur Moeen Ali – shine kar sakein.
Jab Simon Doull ne kaha ki agar pitch unke favour mein nahi aa rahi, toh KKR ko naya homeground consider karna chahiye, tab CAB ne apne curator Sujan Mukherjee ka support kiya.
Lekin GT ke mentor Dwayne Bravo ne pitch par blame game ko shut down kar diya.

KKR ke playoffs chances bhi ab thode shaky lag rahe hain. Team currently 7th position pe hai with 5 losses from 8 games. Home ground par unki performance bhi weak rahi hai, 4 mein se 3 matches haar chuke hain. Agla match April 26 ko Punjab Kings ke against hai, phir se home ground pe.
Toh doston, Harsha Bhogle ko commentary se hataya gaya ya nahi, ab aap jaante hain pura sach. Sometimes, it’s just a simple case of miscommunication – aur thodi si gossip bhi!
