Chennai Super Kings ke legend MS Dhoni ka batting position IPL 2025 mein ek hot topic ban gaya hai. Fans ke saath-saath unke former teammate Robin Uthappa bhi ab is baat se frustrated nazar aa rahe hain ki Dhoni number 9 par batting kar rahe hain – haan, aapne sahi suna, number 9!
“Frustrated. F*****g frustrated. What the f**k is going on, dude! He might as well have batted even lower than No. 9. I would say ‘befuddlement’ is too weak a term. What the heck! Like what is the thinking? Because you know you won’t win the game by the time he’s coming to bat,”
Ye explosive rant Uthappa ne The KimAppa Show mein diya, cricket analyst Jarrod Kimber ke saath baat karte hue. Ye sab hua jab CSK ne RCB ke against ek tough chase mein Dhoni ko bahut late bheja.
CSK 99/7 par thi 15.2 overs mein, aur 98 runs chahiye the 28 balls mein – almost impossible. Dhoni ne last over mein attack chalu kiya aur 16 balls pe 30 runs banaye, lekin match 50 runs se gaya.
“The only thing you can give yourself the best chance to do is reduce that net run rate. IPL ke margins itne slim hain ki net run rate bhi matter karta hai,”
Uthappa ko yeh bhi samajh nahi aaya ki Dhoni Ashwin aur Overton ke baad kyun aaye, jab asking rate already high tha.
“What confuses me is that the asking rate was so high in the 13th and 14th over. I was like, there’s no way MS is going to come below number eight… Push came to shove and then went some more, still he hadn’t turned up,”
Is sab ke beech ek aur baat saamne aayi – Dhoni ka reasoning ki woh doosre players ko mauka dena chahte hain, T20I team ke liye taiyaar hone ka. Lekin Ashwin retire ho chuke hain aur Jadeja bhi T20Is se alag ho gaye hain.
CSK vs RR match mein jab Dhoni no.7 par aaye, tab bhi unka impact limited raha – 11 balls pe 16 runs, aur match CSK 6 runs se haar gaya.
Post-match press conference mein CSK ke coach Stephen Fleming ne reason diya:
“It’s a time thing. MS judges it. His body is… his knees aren’t what they used to be… He can’t bat ten overs running full stick,”
Yani clear hai – Dhoni apne fitness ke hisaab se decision le rahe hain, lekin fans aur ex-players ke liye yeh reasoning utni satisfying nahi lag rahi.
