DC Bowlers Rattle RCB’s Top Order

The Delhi Capitals bowlers made a superb comeback, restricting RCB to 163/7 in their 20 overs. RCB started aggressively, with Philip Salt blasting the ball to all corners. But the game changed when Salt got run out after a miscommunication with Virat Kohli. DC seized the momentum and didn’t let RCB recover. Salt’s early dismissal at 61/1 in 3.5 overs set the tone. The pressure increased, and RCB found themselves struggling, with key wickets falling rapidly.

Notable dismissals included Devdutt Padikkal (1), Virat Kohli (22), and Liam Livingstone (4). The turning point came when DC captain Axar Patel rotated his bowlers skillfully, and the opposition had no answer. Kuldeep Yadav picked up crucial wickets, and Vipraj Nigam’s 2/18 added to the misery. In the end, RCB managed a modest total, thanks to a strong lower-order performance from Tim David (37* off 20), but it was never going to be enough against DC’s chase.

KL Rahul’s Match-Winning Performance

DC’s chase wasn’t straightforward either. They lost their openers early, with both Faf du Plessis and Jake Fraser-McGurk dismissed cheaply. With the scoreboard reading just 30 for 3, RCB started to dream of a massive win. But KL Rahul had other plans. Rahul, along with Tristan Stubbs, fought back in a 111-run partnership that put DC in control. Rahul’s 93* off 53 balls, including 7 fours and 6 sixes, was the anchor of the chase.

Alongside him, Stubbs played a vital knock of 38 off 23 balls, and together, they guided DC to a 6-wicket victory with 13 balls to spare. It was an excellent display of composure and skill under pressure by Rahul, who was the hero of the match.
