Rohit Sharma, the star batter of Mumbai Indians (MI), has been facing a tough time in IPL 2025, scoring just 38 runs in his first four outings. However, former Australia cricketer Michael Clarke is confident that Rohit will bounce back soon.
Clarke, who has seen Rohit lead India to ICC Champions Trophy glory, believes that the MI captain is just a single good innings away from finding his form. With only one fifty-plus score in his last 12 IPL innings, Rohit is currently under heavy scrutiny. But Clarke has full faith in his ability to recover.
“I think Rohit’s an absolute superstar. It’s just a matter of time before he makes (a) hundred. I think it’s going to take one decent innings. It might be a 40, it might be a 60. He’ll get momentum and then, you know, you’ll see the best of Rohit Sharma. I wouldn’t be too concerned about his form,” Clarke was quoted as saying.
Clarke also emphasized that every player has their ups and downs, especially the greats like Rohit. He believes that once Rohit gets his momentum back, the world will see his true class shine once again.
“He’ll get momentum and then, you know, you’ll see the best of Rohit Sharma. I wouldn’t be too concerned about his form. We all have high expectations of the great players because they’ve been so successful over a long period of time that, yeah, you’re allowed to miss out on a couple of games. But class is permanent,” he added.
Rohit’s struggles have certainly impacted MI’s performance in IPL 2025, with the five-time champions currently struggling to get off to a strong start. As of now, MI sits at the ninth spot in the points table, having lost three out of their first five matches.
In their upcoming IPL 2025 clash, MI will take on the Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium, and fans are hoping that Rohit finds his rhythm soon to help MI turn things around.
