IPL 2025 ka ek aur thriller match dekhne ko mila jab Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ne sirf 112 ka target chase karte hue 95 par all out ho gayi. Lekin spotlight chura le gaya ek choti si communication glitch jo ban gayi KKR ki haar ki badi wajah.
Match ke turning point par baat karein toh Ajinkya Rahane ka LBW decision ne sab kuch badal diya. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal ke first over mein Rahane pad pe lagne ke baad out diye gaye. Lekin hawkeye baad mein dikhata hai ki impact clearly outside off stump tha – matlab, agar DRS liya hota toh woh not out hote.
Toh DRS liya kyun nahi? Rahane ne khud post-match conference mein explain kiya:
“As a batter, I thought that I could save the review for later. It shouldn’t happen that I take a review and lose it, then we are only left with one review.”
“The communication between the two batsmen [him and Raghuvanshi] wasn’t that clear. If someone clearly tells you that the impact can be out or it can miss, you take a review as a batter.”
Rahane ne bataya ki unke partner Angkrish Raghuvanshi ne sirf ‘maybe umpire’s call ho sakta hai’ kaha, jis se unko review lene ka confidence nahi mila. Aur woh walk off kar gaye.
“The communication wasn’t that clear: ‘Maybe it could be the umpire’s call, maybe it could be hitting.’ That’s why I didn’t take a review. But again, no complaints. Apart from that, we also were pretty bad as a batting unit. And that was the reason we lost today.”
Rahane ne 17 balls mein 17 run banaye aur phir Raghuvanshi bhi Chahal ka shikaar ban gaye after scoring 37 from 28 balls. Chahal ne apne teesre over mein Rinku Singh aur Ramandeep Singh ko back-to-back dismiss kar KKR ke batting lineup ko collapse mein daal diya.
Yeh KKR ki season ki chauthi haar thi unke 7 matches mein se. Ab unka agla match April 21 ko hai Gujarat Titans (GT) ke against, apne home ground par. Dekhna hoga kya wo comeback kar payenge ya confusion ka yeh silsila jari rahega.
